Following our successful opening, and with the business expanding as we prepare for the season, we are excited to announce that we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team.
The Front of House Porter is a key member of the reception team, responsible for delivering a warm welcome and exceptional first impression to all hotel guests. This role involves assisting with luggage, providing information, supporting the front desk, and ensuring the lobby and entrance areas are clean, organised, and inviting at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests on arrival and departure in a friendly, professional manner
- Assist guests with luggage to and from rooms promptly and safely
- Escort guests to their rooms, explaining hotel facilities and services
- Check guests in and out efficiently using the hotel’s property management system
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the hotel entrance, lobby, and public areas
- Support the front desk with guest requests, messages, and deliveries
- Provide information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and transport options
- Arrange transportation services such as taxis when required
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor issues efficiently, escalating when necessary
- Ensure luggage storage areas are secure and well-organised
- Assist with group arrivals, departures, and events logistics
- Monitor the entrance area to ensure guest safety and security
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to use hotel management systems and standard software confidently
- Full Driving Licence essential as duties include providing a buggy service between our two hotel buildings
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Good physical fitness for handling luggage and standing for long periods
- Basic knowledge of the local area and transport systems
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred
- Experience with check-in/check-out procedures and reservation systems is advantageous
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Working Conditions
- Role involves standing for extended periods and frequent walking
- Regular lifting and handling of luggage
- High guest interaction in a busy, customer-facing environment
- Frequent use of computers and front office systems
