Wine Tasting Evening

Discover a relaxed and sociable evening of wine as our knowledgeable team guides you through a carefully curated tasting of five exceptional wines. Featuring two white wines, two reds and a rosé, each served as a 75ml pour, you’ll explore a variety of styles, regions and stories behind every glass, accompanied by seasonal nibbles. For those wishing to elevate the experience, a generous charcuterie board of artisan meats and cheeses can be added for £15 per person. £60 per person. Available each Thursday & Sunday at 16:00 in the Lounge Bar. Advance booking of at least 24 hours is required.

Cocktail Masterclass Experience

Shake, stir and sip your way through an interactive cocktail masterclass led by our expert bartenders. Discover the techniques behind perfectly balanced drinks before creating and enjoying three signature cocktails, accompanied by seasonal nibbles throughout the experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to try something new, it’s a relaxed and memorable way to spend an evening. £55 per person. Available each Wednesday & Friday at 16:00 in the Lounge Bar. Advance booking of at least 24 hours is required.

Lakeside Sauna

COMING SOON. Tucked beside our tranquil lake, the Lakeside Sauna offers a peaceful escape to slow down and reconnect. Relax in the warmth of a beautifully crafted timber sauna with panoramic views across the water, then awaken your senses with a refreshing outdoor shower to complete the restorative hot and cold ritual. Whether enjoyed alone or shared with friends and family, it’s a calming experience immersed in nature. £65 per 45-minute private session. Suitable for 1–6 guests. Advance booking of at least 24 hours is required.

Sea Dipping

For the thrill seekers, you can take a plunge in the salty sea at nearby Sandsend Beach. With incredible benefits, a dip is sure to have you feeling restored but please always do so with caution.

Picnic

Indulge in a picnic with a stunning view of the lake, or meander down to Sandsend Beach, basket in hand and watch the sunset over the waves. Let our team curate the perfect picnic package for you.

Horse Riding

For those of you who like a little more adventure, enjoy a trek through the idyllic North Yorkshire moors on horseback. Speak to our team to find out more about the various activities available at a local equestrian centre.

Cycling

Bring your bike and cycle the picturesque Cinder Track from Whitby to Scarborough, taking in the breathtaking coastal views along the way. View more cycle routes on the North York Moors National Park website. Don’t have a bike? No problem! We can arrange bike hire through our local partner. Simply call Reception in advance of your stay and we’ll get you ready to ride.

Surfing

If you’re an avid surfer, we’re in the perfect spot to catch some waves. Speak to the team to discover the best spots along the sandy shores of Sandsend Beach.

Run Club

Set out on an 8K coastal run, led by Ollie from Sicklinghall Run Club. The route winds through countryside, quiet lanes and along the shoreline – a perfect mix of movement, fresh air and sea views. All levels are welcome, whether you come solo, with friends, or bring your dog along. A complimentary post-run drink is waiting when you return. Monday Miles

Join us every Monday at 8:30AM for Monday Miles at Saltmoore. Starting from The Sanctuary reception, this relaxed 3-mile run is open to members and residents of all abilities. A simple, social way to move, breathe in the coastal air and begin the week feeling refreshed and energised.

North York Moors National Park

A vast expanse of heather-clad moorland and ancient woodland, the North York Moors invites unhurried exploration. From scenic drives to quiet walking trails,

it’s a place to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with nature. And when the day’s exploring is done, return to the comfort of a hotel room with balcony near Whitby at Saltmoore, where you can watch the light fade through the trees from your own private outdoor space.

Situated just a 10 minute drive from the hotel, Whitby is a coastal town with lots to explore. Visit the Abbey, climb 199 steps or stumble upon the Screaming Tunnel aka “Dracula’s Tunnel, which perfectly frames the onlooking harbour and Abbey.
